Future lockdown cannot be ruled out says CM 




Not ruling out the possibility of imposing a lockdown in the near future to contain the spread of covid-19 pandemic.


 chief minister pramod sawant on Monday said the government will access the situation in the state for a few days and accordingly decide on the future strategy. sawant said the three days lockdown which was imposed last week and was basically to create an awareness about covid-19 pandemic among the public as many people have not been following the norms laid down for taking precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus.


The chief minister said that has the highest number of covid-19 cases has been reported in Vasco the government has extended the lockdown in the port town for another four days.


When asked whether the cabinet will decide an imposing lockdown in the next week can sawant said that government will accsst the situation and accordingly take decision if required. It may be noted that even after taking various major include the three-day locked dnwn Goa continues to report a spike in new covid positive cases in the state.
